Bân-lâm-gí Music

Nanguan (南管), also known as Southern Pipe, is a traditional Chinese chamber music genre originating from Quanzhou in southern Fujian province. Characterized by its slow, elegant, and melancholic melodies in pentatonic scales, it features intimate ensemble performances blending vocal and instrumental elements. Lyrics in Hokkien dialect explore themes of love, longing, and nature, accompanied by plucked and blown instruments.
