Heavy Silence

In the quiet after you left, the room still holds your nameShadows play across the walls, calling out in vain

We built a world on whispered dreams, bodies close and warmNow the bed feels twice as wide, and I’m alone in the stormEvery touch we shared still lingers, burning soft and slowI reach for you in darkness, but there’s nowhere left to go

How do hearts keep beating when the rhythm falls apartI’m breathing in the pieces of a love that lost its start

Heartbreak comes in silence, heavy on my chestIt pulls me under slowly, never letting restI gave you every part of me, you carried it awayNow I’m standing in the after, with nothing left to say

Morning light arrives too soon, it finds me wide awakeCoffee cools beside your chair, the one you used to takeI trace the lines we drew in time, but they begin to fadeYour laughter used to fill these rooms, now only echoes stay

Heartbreak comes in silence, heavy on my chestIt pulls me under slowly, never letting restI gave you every part of me, you carried it awayNow I’m standing in the after, with nothing left to say

Maybe time will soften every scar I try to hideMaybe one day I’ll forget the way you made me feel insideBut tonight the ache is honest, and it knows just where I amHolding on to what we were, while learning how to stand

Heartbreak comes in silence, settling like rainI close my eyes and wonder if I’ll ever feel the same
