About
This raw Delta blues track unfolds over a classic 12-bar progression with soulful blue notes and expressive guitar bends that wail through the heartache of lost love. Call-and-response vocals trade gritty pleas with harmonica cries, backed by syncopated rhythms on acoustic guitar, upright bass, and sparse drums for an intimate, unpolished live feel. A searing guitar solo bridges verses, building resilient yearning before fading on a lonesome outro.
Lyrics
Woke up this morning Bed cold in bed darling Darling slipped away There was nothing but air I held her close Through the midnight hours Promised forever In those sweet summer showers But she turned her back Walked out my door Left me standing here Loving her more Lost love Lost love Why'd you have to go Tore Tore the light Brought out my soul Lost love Leaving me this way hard Breathing blue From night till day Lost love Lost love It's a heavy load Lost love Oh, lost love It's a heavy load But I'll rise up strong Walk this lonesome road Yeah Yeah, lost love Yeah, lost love Yeah, lost love One day I'll be home One day I'll be home One day I'll be home One day I'll be home One day I'll be home One day I'll be home One day I'll be home One day I'll be home One day I'll be home One day I'll be home
