Empty chair across the table, cold coffee in my cup. Nights like this, I'm barely able to keep my spirit up. Woke up reaching for your side. Pillow trembles, but you're gone. Hearts are hollow, aching right. Singing solitary songs. Windows rattle in the breeze. No laughter fills the air. Just the quiet on its knees. And me pulling my hand. Clock ticks slow, marks the hours. No footsteps at the door. Wilted flowers lose their powers. Can't bloom. Can't bloom here anymore. Loneliness, you shadow me. Cling like dew on morning grass.
