Weight of Empty Hands

Delta Blues
About
Raw holler vocals wail over stark acoustic guitar and piercing slide licks in a strict 12-bar blues progression, evoking the crushing grip of poverty in the Mississippi Delta. Ultra-raw mono production captures foot stomps, string buzz, and room reverb like a 1930s field recording, with a haunting guitar solo amplifying the desperate soul. Sparse monophonic lines and guttural intensity deliver unpolished intimacy and haunting despair.
Lyrics
Oh, the weight of empty hands Dragging through the endless sand Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul guitar solo Woke up to the morning chill Pockets torn, belly never filled Plow the ground from dawn to dark Harvest nothing but a lonesome spark Kids cry out for bread I can't provide Dreams all scattered, nowhere to hide Sweat and tears in my eyes Tears mix in the dirt It ain't no silver it always hurts guitar solo So my last hope for a dime or two Landlord knocking, what can I do? Windows bare, no fire to light Night so cold, steal away the fight Begging shadows to come For a scrap of grace Starving eyes stare from every face No tomorrow in this weary grind Prev the grit squeezing out my mind guitar solo Oh, the weight of empty hands Dragging me down to the promised land Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul Ain't no silver, ain't no gold Just a hollow in my soul
