Minton's Midnight Frenzy

About

This blistering bebop instrumental unleashes a torrent of swing rhythm and walking bass lines propelling horn improvisation into overdrive, framed by intricate melodic heads and virtuosic solos from trumpet and alto sax. Chordal comping from the piano dances atop a crisp ride cymbal pattern on drums, capturing the raw energy of a 1940s Harlem jam session in an acoustic live ensemble with natural room reverb and tight instrument separation. Clocking in at around 157 seconds, it builds from head to explosive solos before resolving in a fiery out-head.
