Whiskey Lane Lament
Midnight River Rambler
Blues
About
This track captures the raw essence of Delta Blues with a slow, shuffling groove driven by resonator slide guitar and upright bass, layered with gravelly male vocals that ache with loss. Subtle harmonica wails and brushed drums add to the hypnotic rhythm, while light reverb creates a smoky juke joint atmosphere. The production stays true to vintage grit, using analog tape saturation for warmth without modern polish.
Lyrics
Thank you for watching! You left me with a bottle and a lonesome song Oh the whiskey river's calling drowning my name A whiskey river's calling drowning my pain Blue's gonna follow me down that lonesome lane She took the midnight train didn't say goodbye She took the midnight train And left me high Now the rain's falling heavy And the crying sky Oh, the way she reads Thank you. Memories haunt me Like a ghost in the night Memories haunt me Stealing the light Into the fire Whiskey River's calling Drowning my pain Whiskey River Blue's gonna stay
