Gezaixi, or Taiwanese opera, is a traditional form of Chinese opera originating from Fujian and flourishing in Taiwan. It is characterized by its melodic, lyrical singing style, often performed in Taiwanese Hokkien, and its integration of folk songs, narrative storytelling, and elaborate theatrical performance.
