Samulnori is a genre of traditional Korean percussion music performed with four specific instruments: kkwaenggwari, jing, janggu, and buk. It evolved from traditional folk music (nongak) into a stage-based performance art in the late 1970s, characterized by complex rhythmic patterns, high energy, and virtuosic improvisation.
